• September 2, 2018: With great sadness we bring news that long time CCSS member Frank Zapatka died at home, in Waterbury on Sunday, 9/02/2018 under Hospice Care.  Frank was born March 2, 1938.  He moved to Waterbury, CT from Utah, and almost immediately became involved with CCSS.  He served as treasurer from 1999 to August 2000, when he accepted the mantle of Vice-president.  He was VP until July 2009, when he was elected to the position of President and served in that capacity until June 2009.  
       There will be a memorial service on Saturday, October 6th at 10:00 am at the Lady of Lebanon Church,                    Waterbury, CT.  Condolences may be sent to Frank's wife, Jane, and son Alex at 22 Cottage Grove Lane,                  Waterbury, CT 06706
  • October 7, 2018, 12:00 pmPlease note that the meeting time has been moved up one hour due to the library closing early on Sundays. The October CCSS monthly meeting will be held at the Litchfield Public Library (also known as the Oliver Wolcott Library), 160 South St., Litchfield, CT 06759, (860) 567-8030.  Topic: Under the Spell of Succulents will be presented by renowned author Jeff Moore.  Jeff is from Southern California, and was seduced by succulents back in the late 1980's.  He says he "ditched his tie, and has been working in shorts and t-shirts ever since with no regrets."  Jeff is the author of Under the Spell of Succulents, Aloes & Agaves in Cultivation and Soft Succulents.  Our meeting will include pot luck lunch, as usual.  Chairs will be provided.
