   Membership benefits include:
  • Monthly meetings, which take place at nurseries, universities and private plant collections around the state; where you can tour the collections, speak with the growers and shop at the nurseries.
  • Monthly meetings start with our famous, delicious pot-luck lunches (see the newsletter for what type of dish to bring) provided by members, along with Keurig coffee.
  • Monthly meetings include a C&S related educational program and/or activities (ex. hypertufa construction).
  • Club field trips (often taking the place of our June meeting), which have included the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, New York Botanic Garden, Wave Hill Botanic Garden and Berkshire Botanic Garden.
  • The opportunity to meet dozens of fellow C&S enthusiasts (including some nationally known experts) to share knowledge and exchange plants.
  • Taking part in specialty plant auctions and raffles at some of the meetings.
  • Taking part in our annual Timber Press group discount book ordering opportunity (around March).
  • Receipt of our monthly news letter, which will keep you informed about society activities, upcoming show details, and other issues of interest to members, such as cactus and succulent book releases, plant shows and conferences, private collection sales and other events.
  • Volunteering at our annual show and sale is a great way to help the society, while meeting even more people, and learning even more about C&S plants. Among other things, volunteering can include clerking in the judged show to learn more about showing plants.
